Get moving. If you plan on indulging throughout the weekend, this is not a good time to skip your workouts. Get up first thing in the morning and hit the gym, go for a run or do whatever your workout of choice is. If people at the events you attend are playing sports, join in! Physical activity will help counteract the potential damage you may do at your events and will enhance the effects of dieting and other efforts to lose inches, such as Lipo-Light sessions.
Use small plates. Research shows that when people use smaller dishes at a buffet, such as dessert or appetizer plates, they eat much less than if they used larger plates. Plus, who wants to keep hitting the buffet over and over again for refills?
Hydrate. Make sure to drink lots of water, as chances are you may be exposed to more heat than usual. Water helps fill you up and will offset the effects of a hangover, in case you plan on drinking alcohol.
Load up on protein and veggies. Moderation is key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and the results you’re experiencing from diet, exercise and Lipo-Light sessions. So while it’s okay to indulge in a few treats at your holiday functions, balance it out by filling three quarters of your plate with healthy choices, such as lean protein, fruits and veggies. Try to eat some salad with fiber-packed veggies that are low-calorie and slow down digestion. You’ll fill up quicker and eat less of the more fattening foods at the spread.
Moderate your alcohol intake. If you plan to indulge in a few libations, make smart choices, such as light beers or white wine spritzers. Avoid sugary mixers and instead opt for soda water if you’re craving a vodka drink. Drink a glass of water between each drink to help you moderate your intake.
